Welcome to Grantsville Dance Center!


Grantsville Dance Center is dedicated to providing quality dance instruction to all of our students.  We want to let children be children in a safe environment where parents don't have to worry what their children are being taught or exposed to so we place a high priority on self-worth, modest costumes, fun music without explicit lyrics, and age appropriate choreography.

Our extensive list of classes includes many types of dance and a variety of skill levels, so rest assured there’s an option that’s perfect for you. We’re constantly updating our offerings, so check back often to make sure you don’t miss out on a new dance opportunity.

Recreation Combo Class
Ages 2-3

This class is for those students 2-3 yrs. of age.  This class explores different themes while using locomotor movements and the basics of dance.  They perform one dance in the Winter recital and two dances in the Spring recital.

Recreation Combo Classes 
Ages 3-5

Dancers love the opportunity to explore the new dance moves taught in these classss which include Tap, Ballet, and Jazz.   Our amazing instructors make sure everyone gets individual attention while keeping the class collaborative. These classes perform one dance in the Winter Recital and two dances in the Spring Recital.

Recreation Combo Classes
1st grade-up

These combo classes focus on Jazz and Ballet/Lyrical.  The instructors are committed to giving each student attention while also moving the class forward.  These classes will perform one dance in the Winter Recital and two dances in the Spring Recital. 

Technique Classes
Ages 6-up

Technique is the basis of all fundamentals of dance from holding your body correctly while performing to executing the movements correctly in a routine.  These classes focus on proper technique for varying skill levels.  Technique classes are required for those on competition teams. These classes do not perform in the recitals.

Competition Dance Classes

Competition Dance teams include a combination of jazz and lyrical or contemporary dance styles for ages 6-up.  All competition teams are skill level based and team placement is by audition only.  These teams are also required to take a technique class.  Competition Teams compete at 2-3 competitions within the state.  They also perform one dance at the Winter Recital and two dances at the Spring Recital.

Recreation Tumbling Classes 
Ages 5-up

These classes are skill based classes for Novice, Beginner, and Intermediate tumbling students.  As students master skills in basic level classes they can be moved up to higher level classes as the instructor sees fit.  These classes will perform one routine all together in both the Winter and Spring Recitals.

Tiny Tots Tumbling Ages 2-4

This class is a class just for those students ages 2-4  who want to explore the skill of tumbling.  Basic locomotor skills and tumbling skills are taught in this class.  They perform once in both the Winter and Spring recitals.

Ballet Classes Ages 8-up

The basis of all dance comes from ballet.  Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, and balance.  Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre, and center floor work along with across the floor combinations.  Classes will perform one dance in the Winter & two dances in the Spring recitals.

Recreation Cheer Classes ages 6-up

Students in these classes will get exposure to both Cheerleading and Tumbling along with stunting and pom.  The Cheer classes will perform one routine in the Winter Recital and one routine  in the Spring Recital.

Class Dress Code

Dancers must be wearing proper attire when attending all styles of classes.  All dancewear for recreation classes can be purchased at Elara Dancewear located inside the Tooele Marketplace or on Amazon.  All tights for performance must be purchased through the studio.  Due to oils in parking lots and on sidewalks, dance shoes should not be worn outside.

The dress code for classes is as follows:

Recreation Combo Classes ages 2-5

*Light Suntan Footed Tights-Any tights may be worn for class, however dancers must wear this color for pictures and recitals.

*Leotard-this must be worn to class every week.  Fitted dance shorts or fitted leggings will be allowed to be worn over the leotard or a ballet skirt. No baggy clothes or jeans are allowed and all stomachs must be covered.  Boys will wear workout style clothing-basketball shorts, Under Armour etc.

*Black velcro tap shoes

Recreation Combo Classes 1st-2nd Grade

*Light Suntan Footed Tights-Any tights may be worn for class, however dancers must wear this color for pictures and recitals.

*Leotard-this must be worn to class every week.  Dancers can wear a fitted shirt or tank top in place of a leotard.  Fitted dance shorts or fitted leggings will be allowed to be worn over the leotard and with the shirt/tank. No baggy clothes or jeans are allowed and all tops must cover the stomach. Boys will wear workout style clothing-basketball shorts, Under Armour etc.

*Hair must be pulled back out of eyes.  Watches and jewelry are not allowed to be worn.

Recreation Combo Classes 3rd Grade-Up 

*Light Suntan Stirrup Tights-Tights do not need to be worn to class but will be required for pictures and recitals. 

*Leotard/Fitted Shirt or Fitted Tank Top should be worn to class every week.  Fitted dance shorts or fitted leggings will be allowed to be worn over the leotard and with the fitted shirt/tank. No baggy clothes or jeans are allowed.  Exposed bras or tops showing the stomach will not be permitted. Boys will wear workout style clothing-basketball shorts, Under Armour etc.

*Suntan half sole shoe

*Black Slip on Jazz shoes

*Hair must be pulled back and out of eyes.  Jewelry and watches are not allowed to be worn.

Competition Team Classes

Tights and shoes for competition teams must be purchased through the dance studio.

*Leotard/Fitted Shirt or Fitted Tank Top should be worn to class every week.  Fitted dance shorts or fitted leggings will be allowed to be worn over the leotard and with the fitted shirt/tank. No baggy clothes or jeans are allowed.  Exposed bras or tops showing the stomach will not be permitted.

*Suntan half sole shoe

*Tan slip on Jazz shoes

*Hair must be pulled back and out of eyes.  Jewelry and watches are not allowed to be worn.

Ballet Class

*Ballet Pink tights-Any color of tights can be worn to class and must be worn to class however, this color must be worn for pictures and recitals.

*Ballet Pink Ballet Shoes

*Leotard-Any color of leotard is allowed in class.  Fitted dance shorts are allowed to be worn over leotards.  No baggy clothes are allowed.  Exposed bras or tops showing the stomach will not be permitted. Boys will wear workout style clothing-basketball shorts, Under Armour etc.

*Hair must be pulled back and out of eyes.  Jewelry and watches are not allowed to be worn.

Cheer Classes

*Leotard/ biketard  or fitted t-shirt /fitted tank top with dance shorts or fitted leggings.  No baggy clothing or jeans are allowed.  Exposed bras or tops showing the stomach will not be permitted. Boys will wear workout style clothing-basketball shorts, Under Armour etc.

*All white sneakers with white ankle socks (socks should not show past the shoe).  These can be purchased on Amazon. Shoes should only be used in class, for pictures, and for performances.  These shoes should not be worn outside.  Students must bring them to the studio and put them on there.  This will help to protect our dance floor from outside oils etc.

​*Hair must be pulled back and out of eyes.  No jewelry or watches are allowed.

Tumbling Classes

*Leotards with tight fitted dance shorts or fitted leggings.  Biketards are also allowed.  For safety reasons these items must be worn every week so teachers can spot without clothing getting in the way.  If a student is not dressed properly they will not be allowed to tumble. Boys will wear workout style clothing-basketball shorts, Under Armour etc.

*Hair must be pulled back away from face and neck.  No high ponytails that prevent the dancer from being able to put weight on their head.

*No jewelry or watches are allowed

Pricing

For all competitive and recreation dancers there is a $35 registration fee.  If there are multiple dancers within the same family the registration fee is $35 for the first child and $30 for every family member after that. We offer discounts if more than one class is taken and a sibling discount.

 ***There is not a separate costume fee.  A portion of monthly tuition goes toward costumes each month as long as the student completes the full season.  If your student quits before the end of the season or starts mid-year, you are required to pay the remaining balance.

Monthly Tuition is as follows:

Monthly Tuition is the same for all months.  We do not prorate tuition.  All dancers will be required to purchase appropriate dancewear for classes and performances. There is also a recital fee of $30 per dancer that is due by October 1.

 Competition Team dancers will pay competition fees that apply.
